Kyoko froze and turned her gaze to Homura. “Come again? Go with you?” She repeated. ‘Did I hear her right?’ Kyoko shifted for a moment not really sure how to answer. While they might not be the greatest friends, Kyoko didn’t resent or hate Homura. She was rather indifferent most of the time, but today… “Uhm sure…if that’s really okay and all…why not.”

Homura’s shoulders tensed and her body went rigid with nervousness as the red haired girl repeated her question as if she did not understand. Perhaps she hadn’t spoken clearly enough–an old habit of hers had been to mumble when she was uncertain, but she swore she had abandoned her skittishness many, many time travels ago. An incomprehensible fear of rejection suddenly cast over her like a familiar, looming shadow.

Unable to look at Kyoko’s momentarily confused face, the time-venturing magical girl quickly turned her head away before the other could give her answer.

She waited, preparing for her invitation to be thrown back at her; and then…

“…Um sure…”

Magenta eyes fluttered open, wide behind a curtain of her sleek, ebony hair. This was…unexpected. Her outward appearance showed no more surprise than this, and Homura artfully withdrew whatever trace of emotion she may have shown and tucked it swiftly beneath one of her usual, soulless stares.

Straightening herself, the violet magical girl turned on her heel and quietly beckoned Kyoko as she started down the street.

“…Then…follow me."
